Texas Auto is a fully licensed and bonded dealership located in Houston, Texas. Family owned and operated, we have been selling quality pre-owned vehicles using the online marketplace since early 2004. The Buying Process

Regardless of where I live, how does the buying process work if I am financing through Texas Auto?

1. Apply online, get approved, and contact your corresponding salesman to work out the details of the transaction.
2. Leave the standard $500 deposit to secure your vehicle during the buying process.
3. Payment is sent or the loan is finalized through us and you can then make arrangements to take delivery of your vehicle.
4. We will gladly arrange to have you picked up from the local airport during business hours or we can arrange shipping to your front door on a fully licensed, bonded, and insured carrier.
5. We send you duplicate copies of the paperwork; one for you to keep, and one for you to sign and return.
6. You pick up your car at the destination terminal or it is delivered to your front door.
7. Transaction Complete!


I live out of state, how does the buying process work if I am paying cash in person?
Cash Purchase from Out of State

1. Contact your salesperson to leave the standard $500 deposit and/or win the auction on eBay and send your deposit via Paypal.
2. We contact each other via email and/or phone to finalize the transaction and exchange information
3. You send certified funds for the remaining balance due plus any shipping charges, warranties, and applicable fees.
4. Once we receive the funds, any necessary shipping arrangements are made and in most cases your vehicle is picked up the following business day. Your new car is now on its way to you, typical delivery time is about a week and a half. We will also be happy to pick you up at the airport if you decide to fly in and drive your vehicle home.
5. We send you duplicate copies of all the paperwork, one for you to keep, and one for you to sign and return
6. When we receive the signed paperwork, we send out all title documentation.
7. Transaction Complete!


I live out of state, how does the buying process work if I am getting financing from my local credit union/bank? Working with your bank:

1. Contact your salesperson to leave the standard $500 deposit and/or win the auction on eBay and send your deposit via Paypal.
2. We contact each other via email and/or phone to finalize the transaction.
3. We fax all required paperwork to your bank, including copies of the Purchase Order and title documentation if necessary.
4. Your bank sends certified funds for the remaining balance due.
5. When we receive your funds, we ready the car for shipping- Your new car is now on its way to you, typical delivery time is about a week and a half. We will also be happy to pick you up from the airport if you decide to fly in and drive home.
6. We send you duplicate copies of the paperwork, one for you to keep, and one for you to sign and return.
7. Transaction Complete!


I live out of state, but want to fly in and drive my new car back home.

No problem! We do this all the time. Please make arrangement to fly into Houston Hobby (HOU) or Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Please let us know about your travel arrangements ASAP so we can have the paperwork prepared and arrange to have you picked up in your vehicle at no additional charge.


Where is Texas Auto located?

We are located at 5531 Mitchelldale St in Houston, Texas, 77092. We are only 10-15 minutes from either of our major airports, Bush Intercontinental (IAH), or Houston Hobby (HOU), for easy and convenient customer pick-ups. All vehicles are stored in our secure indoor facility.


What other fees will I have to expect to pay in addition to the sales price?

All vehicles are subject to a one time $150 Administrative fee. This fee includes Documentary & Prep fees. There is also a Vehicle Inventory Tax that is mandated by law, that amount is .002586 percent of the sales price. For example, on a $10,000 vehicle this tax will be $25.86, so it is not the end of the world. Most dealerships charge over $450 on top of the prep fees and Vehicle Inventory Tax which we find to be unreasonable. These are the only additional fees assessed to out-of-state buyers other than shipping, not a penny more!!! Texas residents pay 6.25% sales tax and a $115 title and license fee, a $40.75 inspection fee, which goes directly to the state for title transfers.


How is shipping of the vehicle arranged, can I get a quote?

Not local or need your vehicle shipped? No problem! Vehicle shipping through Texas Auto is easier than you may think. We at Texas Auto are more than happy to help you make shipping arrangements for your new vehicle! We send vehicles all over the world and we have built many relationships to help save you money! We are one of the only eBay dealers that have their own In-House Shipping Department, this a huge advantage to the customers because we make sure that every truck is licensed, bonded, and insured to ensure a fast and safe delivery of your vehicle anywhere in the world! Do you accept trades?

Is my deposit refundable?

Unfortunately all deposits are NON refundable. This is due to the expenses involved with removing a vehicle from the market, relisting fees, additional interest, and possible loss of sale. We can ensure you we do not want your deposit unless you truly plan on purchasing our vehicle.
